ABOUT EUROPEAN VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE
The European Golden League (EGL) is a volleyball competition organized by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). It is an annual tournament that brings together teams from national volleyball federations across Europe. The EGL includes both a men’s and women’s competition.
The European Golden League serves as a promotion/relegation tournament for European countries that do not participate in the CEV Nations League (formerly known as the World League and World Grand Prix). It offers these countries the opportunity to compete against similar teams at the European level.
The EGL consists of various divisions or groups depending on the strength of the participating teams. In addition to the competitive aspect, the European Golden League also provides an opportunity for countries to gain experience and further develop in the international volleyball circuit.
It’s important to note that the information I provide is based on my knowledge up until September 2021, so there may be changes in the structure or nomenclature of the European Golden League. For the most up-to-date information, I recommend consulting the official CEV website.
