Monaco has secured a spot in the 2026 EuroLeague Playoffs after beating Barcelona 79-70 on Friday night at Salle Gaston Medecin.

A trade of blows in the opening stages was followed by an 11-0 surge in the first quarter that opened a double-digit lead which Monaco maintained until the end of the second, taking a 49-35 advantage at halftime.

Barcelona bounced back after the break, upped its defensive level and outscored the hosts 9-18 in the third quarter, trimming the deficit to 56-49 heading into the fourth. Yet the 2025 Final Four finalist showed its character down the stretch, absorbing Barcelona’s last comeback attempt to clinch its sixth straight home victory.

Daniel Theis paced Monaco with 16 points, with Elie Okobo netting 14. Mike James paired his 13 points with 10 assists, while Jaron Blossomgame bagged 11 points and 10 rebounds. For Barcelona, Will Clyburn scored a team-high 16 points and Toko Shengelia added 14 in a losing effort.
