Efes snapped Partizan’s six-game winning streak after wiping out a 24-36 halftime deficit and prevailed in overtime as the Turkish team improved to 11-25 while its Serbian counterpart dropped to 15-21.

Partizan took control with a 2-17 run in the second quarter, but Efes refused to roll over and missed a chance to win in regulation before Carlik Jones forced overtime from the foul line with 4.3 seconds remaining. The hosts then had more left in the tank as Jordan Loyd paced them on 24 points and Vincent Poirier added 17. Shake Milton scored 12 while Sterling Brown and Jones added 11 apiece in defeat at the other end.

In a first half of runs, Monaco took a 22-21 edge into the second quarter before pulling away thanks to a 15-2 surge for a 46-36 lead at halftime. A trade of blows in the third quarter saw Monaco maintain a double-digit advantage heading into the fourth, but ASVEL bounced back to make it a one-possession game (76-74) in crunch time. Yet Monaco tightened up its defense, didn’t allow the guests to score a single field goal in the last 2 minutes and sealed the outcome thanks to a three-point dagger by Elie Okobo.

Having grabbed its ninth straight victory over ASVEL, Monaco improved its record to 20-16. Meanwhile, the visitors suffered their sixth consecutive loss, dropping to 8-28 at the bottom of the standings.

Okobo came 2 assists shy of a triple-double, as he finished the game on 16 points, 10 rebounds and 8 dishes. Matthew Strazel scored a team-high 22 points and Nikola Mirotic netted 14. Braian Angola bagged 26 points, with Shaquille Harrison scoring 22 for the guests in a losing effort.
