Hapoel secured a playoff place by downing Maccabi 88-99 in the Tel Aviv Derby. Hapoel launched an 0-8 opening burst and never looked back, dominating inside to take a 14-26 lead after 10 minutes. Little changed as Chris Jones scored 9 second-quarter points, helping to make it 41-52 at the break. Lonnie Walker netted 8 points in a hurry to narrow the gap, but Hapoel still led, 66-73, with 10 minutes left. Antonio Blakeney’s four-point play highlighted an 0-8 run midway through the fourth, securing a commanding victory.

Jones commanded Hapoel with a double-double of 13 points and 11 assists, while Elijah Bryant led the scoring with 19 points. Collin Malcolm added 16 points, Blakeney scored 14, and big men Tai Odiase and Dan Oturu both scored in double-digits with 13 and 10 respectively. Walker paced Maccabi with 17 points, Roman Sorkin scored 15, while O’Shae Brissett (13 points, 9 rebounds) and Jaylen Hoard (12 points, 9 rebounds) also fought hard. Hapoel improves to 23-14 for fourth place, while Maccabi drops to 18-19.
