First FINAL FOUR in HISTORY | Valencia - Panathinaikos | EuroLeague Basketball PLAYOFFS

Valencia secured its first ever trip to the Final Four by outclassing Panathinaikos, 81-64, to complete a thrilling 3-2 series victory. Valencia dominated the nervy opening exchanges through its defense, establishing a 14-10 advantage after 10 minutes. Kendrick Nunn powered a 2-7 surge as the Greens took their first lead, but the hosts hit straight back with 9-0 and 10-0 runs for a 35-23 margin at halftime. Panathinaikos responded after the break with a 0-10 charge, however Brancou Badio gave Valencia enough offense to lead 56-50 at the end of the third, and the home team maintained its focus in the final period to seal the deal.

Badio inspired Valencia’s offense with 20 points, while Jean Montero did a bit of everything with 12 points, 3 assists, 3 blocked shots and 5 rebounds. Braxton Key, playing with a broken nose, epitomized his team’s character as he posted 12 points and 6 rebounds, and Kam Taylor contributed in all departments with 9 points, 5 assists and 7 boards. Nigel Hayes-Davis paced Panathinaikos with 15 points, Jerian Grant took the offensive reins by combining 7 points with 10 assists, and Cedi Osman scored 10. Valencia led nearly all night, and was undoubtedly the deserved winner for the first home victory of the series.
